wear your baby better
Wrapping might seem intimidating at first, but with a little practice, it becomes second nature. Here's our step-by-step guide to getting a safe, comfortable carry every time.
step 1: find the center
Hold your wrap at both ends and find the center point. This will sit at the back of your baby's head for most carries. Place the center marker at your chest.
step 2: cross and tie
Cross the fabric behind your back, bringing each end over your opposite shoulder. The fabric should spread wide across your back for even weight distribution.
step 3: create the pocket
Tuck both ends under the center panel to create a secure pocket for baby. This is where your baby will sit.
step 4: place baby
Gently lower baby into the pocket, legs in a natural "M" position with knees higher than bottom. Spread the fabric from knee to knee for hip support.
step 5: tighten and secure
Tighten the wrap strand by strand, working from one side to the other. Baby should be snug against your chest, close enough to kiss.
step 6: spread the passes
Spread the fabric wide over your shoulders and across baby's back for maximum comfort and support.
tips for success
- Practice wrapping over a bed or couch at first
- It's normal for the first few tries to feel awkward
- A tighter wrap is a safer wrap - don't be afraid to snug it up
- Watch your baby for cues that they're comfortable
- Take photos of your carry from different angles to check positioning
troubleshooting
Wrap feels too loose? Retighten strand by strand, pulling each section individually.
Baby sitting too low? You need to tighten the horizontal pass more before placing baby.
Fabric bunching? Make sure you're spreading the fabric wide as you wrap, not letting it bunch up.
